We are delighted to announce the launch of Rosé Sparkling Wine “Artist Series Vol.1: Kohei Nawa,” created in collaboration with Omishima Minna no Winery, led by renowned architect Toyo Ito. This inaugural edition of the Artist Series features label design by Kohei Nawa and textile design by Yoko Ando.

The label artwork, “Untitled,” is a drawing first presented at Nawa’s 2004 solo exhibition Catalyst at Gallery Nomart. It was created by mixing blue paint with a surfactant and glue, then carefully scooping individual bubbles formed during stirring and placing them onto the surface of “Yupo” paper (a synthetic, non-absorbent paper). The process of handling bubbles on non-absorbent “Yupo” paper while preserving their physicality is akin to three-dimensional sculpting. The outlines of the bubbles, transferred onto the paper, shape what could be described as a sculpture that exists in an almost entirely planar form.

Nawa’s connection with Toyo Ito spans many years. Most recently, Nawa created the large-scale work “Cycle”—exploring the theme of the circulation of life and energy—for the façade of Onikuru, a multi-purpose complex in Ibaraki, Osaka, designed by Ito.
