Special Exhibition : Ho / Oh, White Deer (Meiji Jingu)



The special exhibition of Kohei Nawa’s sculptures “Ho / Oh”, a carved and acquired wooden sculpture, will be displayed at the South Gate of the Meiji Shrine as a part of the 100th anniversary of the Meiji Shrine’s enthronement. A particular detail are the gems on the phoenix’s necklaces that have a bamboo fruit shape, which the mythical East Asian phoenix is said to have liked. The wood used for the sculptures is taken from Meiji Shrine camphor trees. Also, the sculpture “White Deer (Meiji Jingu)” is on exhibit at the entrance of the Meiji Jingu Museum.

*A special night-time adoration will be held during October 30rd to November 1st
