KOHEI NAWA

Liquid

Bubbles (cells) form on the surface of a liquid composed of water, silicone oil, surfactants, and pigment. Glowing white like a screen, the bubbles constitute units of stimulation with the faint sound of their appearance and disappearance. When the bubbles gather randomly they create an organic image, but when they come together in a grid they appear to be a system that communicates information. When the bubbles exceed a certain saturation point, it has an almost anesthetic effect as it paralyses the viewer’s senses.
